The Legend of Sonic the Hedgehog: Chapter 7
An old book was laid out across a wooden table. The book was so ancient that dust flew off of it easily. "This," Ron started, "contains the untold history of the Great Chaos War. I can't let you read all of it, but there is a section that will prove most helpful in your journey." Ron opened a page and blew the dust out, causing Sonic to sneeze. "Sorry, I'm allergic to obligatory encyclopedia reading," Sonic chuckled. "Are you saying that you don't want to know the secrets of the Chaos Emeralds?" Ron asked, raising an eyebrow. "No, no, I was just making a joke," Sonic sniffed. Ron gave Sonic an odd look. "You know haha? Joke? It's never mind," Sonic shrugged and looked at the page.
"Many years ago," Ron began, "there was a great war. During this time, destruction and chaos reigned, and creatures of unknown and dark powers had manifested the lands. Our only hope was to seal these powers away forever, inside a specialized power conducting crystal, which we call a Cha

The laboratory was quiet and a menacing figure was hard at work, hooking a rabbit's brain into a robotic insectoid. After a few hours of work, he was done and ready to run some tests. "Power on," the Dr. demanded. The machine came to life, its eyes glowing and its jaws snapping. Eggman strapped the robot down to the table quickly and studied it. "The transplanted brains by themselves still relay signals to the machine that suggests aggression," he noted, "An inhibitor chip may need to be created if the brains are used independently of a living body. At this point in time, results suggest that connecting to the brain without removing the body is the superior option. It is much less work." Eggman briefly looked at the brainless rabbit carcass lying on the table. He picked it up and threw it down the incinerator chute.
"Now then," he said, looking at the robot, "Can you hear me?" The robot only squirmed harder. "I am your creator. Listen to me. I care not for your existence and

Sonic couldn't believe how fast he was moving. He stopped every now and then to see how his new shoes held up. They weren't even hot. He pressed on, breaking through the sound barrier as he moved towards the Green Hill Zone. He arrived several moments later.
The Green Hill Zone, truly one of natures marvels. Situated across massive rivers and lakes, the zone sparkled in the sunlight. From the dew resting on the striped grass, to the checkered mountains in the distance, this was a zone of absolute tranquility and peace.
But something was wrong. The inhabitants of the zone were no where to be seen.
Sonic trudged onward; the unusual atmosphere was both inviting and a bit empty. As he reached a hill, he noticed something floating in the air. It shimmered and almost beckoned him to come closer. When he did, he recognized it from his history book. It was a Circular Conductor Rod, or a Gold Ring, just sitting there, like it had been tossed aside. Sonic grabbed it and it vanished in

As Sonic jogged, he noticed the peculiar nature of the weather and how the clouds had started shifting in a circular pattern. "That's weird," he said, "Only time weather like this happens is when someone is about to use a warp zone. No one has used a warp zone in years."
South Island was split up into separate zones. In the time of the Great Chaos War, people needed to go from zone to zone as quickly as possible, so a special teleport, called a warp zone, was established. They were placed in specific areas of a zone where rifts in time and space were unstable to maximize efficiency. However, to use a warp zone, one either needed to possess a Chaos Emerald, or a number of circular conductor rods, usually referred to as Gold Rings. Both had been sealed in a separate dimension and the warp zones haven't been used since. So now, people just go the old fashioned way, by walking, running, or riding a vehicle of some kind.
Regardless, the air around them started to ripple as the fab

Sonic woke up, splashed water in his face, and ate some cereal. Today was going to be a good day. There was a long race taking place that day and the winner would receive $40000 cash. He could really use the money, not only for his living expenses, but for help in getting into a good college. He washed up, combed and gelled his quills so they were more aerodynamic, and tied his shoes very tight. He looked at the beaten up shoes with nervous eyes. He would be disqualified if they came off and they looked pretty flimsy, even for light jogging. He knew he would need a new pair soon, but he was hoping that the prize money would allow him to buy some new shoes. Whenever he ran without shoes, the force of repeated impact at a fast rate put him in a world of pain. He once ran across a field and the pain was causing him to run funny to cope with it. He tripped and rolled across the field, ending up with a broken leg and a fractured shoulder. His leg healed completely, but excessive u

"You're lazy, arrogant, and disruptive in class. You repeatedly ditch school and continue to waste my time. Tell me, Mr. Sonic, is there any reason at all you shouldn't be expelled?" The man staring into Sonic's face was the head dean of the high school. He was almost always angry, but never got angry enough to enforce any serious discipline on a student. Most students didn't chance it, but Sonic was testing his patience. "You can't expel me! Could you really expel someone this handsome?" he said, raising his eyebrows. "I don't care if you are the son of Narcissus and Aphrodite! You are causing way too much trouble!" The dean said. "Too much? How much trouble is 'just enough'?" Sonic asked, grinning. "None!"
"None? Aw, but where's the fun in that? Don't you care about me?"
"That's not the point. You're making everyone's work more difficult."
"Moi?" Sonic asked, batting innocent eyes, "Making work more difficult? How could I do such a thing?"
"That's a good

For the first 6 years of Sonic's life, things were pretty okay. Deep down, he was very good natured and knew when he went too far. That being said, he often pulled pranks and jokes on the local townspeople.
"Come on, Sonic! We're going to get caught!" Peter, a young pig, was hiding behind the principles desk, along with his partner in crime, Sonic. "Aw, you worry too much!" he said, grinning, "How much time we got?" "About 5 minutes," Peter said, looking at the clock. "Piece o' cake," Sonic chuckled, putting a piece of special cake on the desk. "Okay, now let's jam!" Peter said.
They ran to the hallway and back to the lunchroom. "What makes you think she'll eat it?" Peter asked as they waited by the door. "It's cake! How can you not eat it?" Sonic said. "But-" Peter was interrupted by the angry sound of the principles voice over the intercom. "Sonic the hedgehog and Peter the pig, report to my office immediately!" "That's our cue!" Sonic said, trying to hold back a smile.
