I was recently asked to be the new Art Director of Sonic the Hedgehog HD
And I've decided to take the art style in a new direction; animated movie style. The characters will be animated in this style, while the backgrounds will be digitally painted with lots of new details. Almost everything will have been hand drawn at some point, which includes this 8 frame animation for Sonic's running.
What do I get out of it, you ask? Well, this is a game I've always wanted to see... and I'm in charge of how it looks. Basically this is volunteer work that I benefit from.
What's so special about another HD remake, you may also ask? Well, we're bringing the 8-bit stages in as well. :3
